Options Selection – Current Phase
The purpose of Phase 2 is to examine potential route corridor options to determine a preferred route corridor option. During Phase 2 all reasonable / feasible route corridor options are examined and the following criteria are interrogated to identify a preferred route corridor option:
- Transport User Benefits and Other Economic Impacts,
- Accessibility Impacts,
- Social Impacts,
- Land Use Impacts,
- Safety Impacts,
- Climate Change Impacts,
- Local Environmental Impacts.
Stakeholder feedback plays a crucial role throughout Phase 2, ensuring that the views and concerns of all relevant parties are considered in the decision-making process. At the end of Phase 2, a public consultation will be held to present the preferred route corridor and gather additional input from the public. Once/if a preferred route corridor is identified and subject to TII approval, the project will progress to Phase 3 Design and Environmental Evaluation.
Phase 2 commenced in Q2 2024 and is scheduled for completion in Q4 2025.
